Iowa City, City High vs. Waterloo West

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Unbeaten City High is rounding into playoff form following its impressive 42-10 victory last week over Cedar Rapids Prairie. While Waterloo West tries to shake off a three game losing streak watching its postseason hopes slipe away.

The game did not start well for the Wahawks going three and out. The Little Hawks came out swinging in their first offensive series. Quarter AJ Derby dumps a quick pass off to number 25 Nick Reuter who picks up a nice gain. A few plays later Number 31 Erick Washpun would run in for a touchdown from three yards out making it 7 to zip.

Waterloo West would go three and out again and the Little Hawks waste no time in scoring their second touchdown. The Little Hawks third offensive play and number 25 Nick Reuter would carry the ball 35 yards to the house making it 14 to nothing.  Then, only a few minutes later Little Hawk Quarterback AJ Derby off to the races again.  He would somehow avoid a few tackles and run 70 yards for  a touchdown making it 21 to zip, Little Hawks.

Iowa City High would tack on a 36-yard field goal going up 24-0 before the Wahawks would finally make it on the board. Number 34 Collin Stryon would run 56 yards to the Little Hawk 3 yard line and then it's Ryan Edwards with a quaterback keeper for a touchdown. The Wahawks would go for two points. Stryon would haul in a pitch, tip-toe his way into the endzone making it 24 to 8 Little Hawks at the half.

Final score 45 to 22, Iowa City High. The Little Hawks stay undefeated racking up nearly 450 total yards in offense.
