UPDATE: Ten injured after tour bus tips over in Iowa

BUCHANAN COUNTY (KWWL) -- Ten people were injured after a tour bus tipped over in Buchanan County Wednesday afternoon.

They were taken to Covenant Hospitals in Waterloo.  11 others were taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein as a pre-caution.

36 people were on the bus.

It was part of a Japanese tour group looking at various agriculture sites.  The injuries were mostly bumps and bruises.

The Iowa State Patrol says the bus driver missed a turn, stopped to turn around and slid off the shoulder and into the ditch.

It happened near Independence. The name on the bus is Capitol Tours out of Springfield, Illinois.

KWWL called Capitol Tours, and according to a manager, their company was recently purchased by Presley Tours.  Presley Tours did not buy their buses.

The bus was purchased by Harmony Limos out of Springfield.
