ISU will play Army, Navy and Air Force

Posted:

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Athletics officials say the Iowa State football team will play all three U.S. service academies at Jack Trice Stadium over the next decade.

The Cyclones will host Army next year, Air Force in 2014 and Navy in 2018. Wake Forest is the only other team that will host each of the service academies on its campus over the next 10 years.

Officials say neither the Navy nor the Army has ever played a football game in Iowa. The Air Force played Iowa in 1958 and Iowa State in 1975.

Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard says the non-conference games are an honor and he says Cyclone fans will enjoy the match-ups.
