Farley calls for Panther fans to show up big Saturday

Posted:

Cedar Falls, Iowa -- The call is out to all Panther fans to pack the dome on Saturday.  That's because UNI's opponent, North Dakota State, is notorious for sending a ton of fans on the road and they've this game circled on the calendar since last year.

The Bison and Panthers were picked as the preseason #1 and #2 teams in the conference, and coach Mark Farley would like to see a hostile environment on Saturday just like last week in the win over Illinois State as he says that's key with this type of opponent coming in.

"North Dakota State's been planning this game for a long time.  They have scheduled many tailgates outside already, they've scheduled many seats.  My understanding, I've heard the band is coming.  I mean, I think they're bringing the state," said Farley, "so, the challenge is to our fans as much as it is to our football team, and we'll do our best to take care of the challenge on the field, and I would expect our fans to take care of the challenge in the stands."

The last meeting between the Panthers and Bison came all the way back in 1982.   Kickoff is set for 4:05 Saturday in the UNI-Dome.
