CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Oct. 13, 2008) - Rockwell Collins is awarding a total of $609,185 through the first round of grants from the Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund. The grants are being made available to qualified organizations and agencies that are serving flood victims or were themselves impacted by the 2008 floods.

"These grants represent a good start toward helping our non-profit agencies get back on their feet," said Rockwell Collins President, Chairman and CEO Clay Jones. "As we see the recovery efforts continue, I'm confident that our community will pull together like never before to become stronger than ever."

The first round of grants will go toward helping organizations with operational expenses and programs and services. Requests for funding through a second round of grants, aimed at aiding capital/rebuilding projects, will be announced in the future.

The Rockwell Collins Flood Recovery Fund was established after the historic June floods that devastated parts of Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and other eastern Iowa communities. Contributors to the $2.7M fund include the Rockwell Collins Charitable Corporation, along with the company's employees, retirees, friends, customers and suppliers.
