Wapsie Valley Rolls 35-0

Posted:

This is where the rubber meets the road in class A district four. Fourth ranked East Buchanan is the only unbeaten team in the district but behind the Buccaneers there is a four way tie for second place of teams with just one loss. The winner of the Wapsie Valley--Postville game will remain in second--while the loser could fall into oblivion.

Wapsie Valley took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on touchdown runs of 2 and 80 yards by junior tailback Muike Rathe.

In the 2nd quarter, Rathe broke a 31 yard run to the Pirate 13.  Three plays later, Jacob Wenger slammed it in from the three to make it 21-0 Warriors.

After recovering an onside kick, Kyle Odneal hit Taylor Sickles on a slant and he took it 31 yards to put Wapsie up 28-0

The Warriors broke out a trick play after a fumble recovery, Sickles on a reverse threw a 36 yard bomb for Rathe who walked into the end zone.  The Warriors 35-0 halftime lead would become the final score.
