911 tapes released in Monday's plane crash

JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL)-- The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has released 911 calls from Monday's Iowa City plane crash.

Here's what emergency workers heard as witnesses called in.

Dispatcher: Iowa City 911, what's the address of your emergency?

Caller: It's 1215 Edingale. There's an airplane down.

Dispatcher: There's an airplane down?

Caller: Yes

Dispatcher: Is there anybody injured?

Caller: Yes

Dispatcher: Are they inside?

Caller: Yes, they are inside.

Dispatcher: Okay, do you know if they're conscious?

Caller: I do not know.

Dispatcher: Is it in the yard, or where is it at?

Caller: It's in the street

Dispatcher: We'll get 'em started out there.

Caller: I'm on Sunset right now and I think I just heard a plane crash.

Dispatcher: OK, we have a report of a plane down in that area.

Dispatcher: Iowa City 911, what's the address of your emergency?

Caller: 1209 Edingdale, a plane just crashed in our front yard.

Dispatcher: 1209 Edingdale?

Caller: Yes, they're hurt bad. Get over here fast.

Dispatcher: Yep, bye.

The pilot in that crash, James Meade, remains in fair condition at Iowa City Hospital and Clinics.
