Jumpstart Iowa funding applications

Iowa City Press Release:

A frequent question from Jumpstart applicants is whether or not Jumpstart Housing assistance must be reported by homeowners as taxable income. The Iowa Department of Revenue reports that there appears to be consensus that Jumpstart assistance is exempt from federal and Iowa income tax.

The Flood Recovery Center at City Hall is receiving a steady stream of applicants for Jumpstart Assistance. The deadline for homeowners to submit applications is October 14, 2008. The deadline is fast approaching so do not delay. Flood-impacted local homeowners and business owners are reminded that they can call 319-356-5479 for Jumpstart information and/or stop by the Flood Recovery Center at City Hall Main Lobby, 410 E. Washington Street, from 8AM-6PM regular work days through October 14 for personal assistance from City staff. There will also be special Saturday hours from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 11.
