Athlete of the Week: Garrett Woodson

Garrett Woodson feared the worst when he was hit in the 3rd quarter Friday night against Benton Community.  He heard a pop and though his ankle was broken or he had torn a ligament in his knee.  Neither was the case.  Woodson returned in the fourth quarter in time to deliver a game winning touchdown pass to Jared Wauters, giving the Knights a 14-10 win and earning Woodson KWWL Athlete of the Week honors.

It's the first time in school history the Knights have won six games in back-to-back seasons.  Last year's 6-3 mark fell short of the playoffs, a place Union hasn't been since 1992.  Woodson and the team's other four captains came up with a theme for this year's team: Unfinished Business.

Garrett Woodson has the Knights one win away from finishing some business, clinching that elusive playoff berth.
