Cedar Rapids Washington runs over Cedar Rapids Jefferson

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Washington has won the last six meetings vs. Jefferson in football, and Keenan Davis of Wash was back in action after suffering a leg injury.

In the 1st quarter, Warrior Sam O'Donnell took the J-Hawk punt and returned it 56 yards for the 7-0 lead.

Rock Chalk J-Hawks!  QB Drew Higgins would find Sid Beck over the middle, Beck scored on 3rd & 11.

More Jefferson offense.  Higgins inside the Warrior 10 yard line called his own number and scored, and we had an upset in the making.  13-7 in favor of Baby Blue!

However, the next series was costly for Jeff, they fumbled the pig skin, and Warrior LB Devon Reese recovered and went 87 yards to the house.

Then QB Wyatt Suess hit Shay Gutman over the middle for 6 more Warrior points.  Washington has now defeated their cross town rival seven times in a row, 41-20 was your final.
