Iowa City pilot upgraded to fair condition


IOWA CITY (KWWL)-- The pilot invoved in an Iowa City plane crash has been upgraded to fair condition at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

64-year-old James Norbert Meade crash landed in an Iowa City neighborhood Monday night. Meade is a flight instructor for Jet Air at the Iowa City airport.

The plane crashed just yards from the Iowa City airport on Edingale Drive.

Meade was the only one on board. He suffered a broken nose in addition to other injuries.

Meade was making his approach to the runway when he appeared to clip a tree in a residential neighborhood just northwest of the airport.
