Pink hair raising awareness in Dubuque

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - People in Dubuque are wearing pink in a very special way this year. A way that drawing attention.  It's call touch of love.  And the people at Amirage salon in Dubuque are spreading awareness this month, through a piece of pink hair.

It works much like a hair extension and stays in for up to four weeks. Organizers say the pink strand of hair is drawing attention, which is *exactly what it's supposed to do.

"Almost everybody you meet knows someone.  That's the amazing thing about it and this just creates awareness," said Carole Nauman, Co-owner of Amirage Salon.

The pink hair extension costs six dollars; proceeds benefit the Tri-state Survivors' Fund.  For more information visit the blog: Squires Scribbles on our website.
