Five people hurt in Highway 20 crash

BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -- Five people are hurt after a crash on Highway 20 in Black Hawk County.

It happened at approximately 4:24 p.m. Saturday at mile marker 227 on Highway 20.  Thats between the Highway 63 and Ansborough Ave. interchanges on the southern edge of Waterloo.

Waterloo Police say a single vehicle was traveling eastbound and lost control.  The driver of the vehicle then veered across all eastbound lanes before crashing into a light pole.

No names have been released, but police say the driver, along with four passengers were hurt in that crash.  They were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Due to the accident, eastbound lanes of Highway 20 were closed while officers investigated.  Those lanes are now reopen to traffic.  The accident remains under investigation.
