WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Waterloo East surprised Cedar Rapids Jefferson with an early score but the J-Hawks responded with 35 unanswered points for their third win of the season 35-7 spoiling the Trojans homecoming.

East scored a touchdown with just nine seconds gone in the game after Jefferson fumbled the opening kickoff. East quarterback Nathan Sauer tossed a 10 yard touchdown pass to Demetrious Tillman to give the Trojans a 7-0 lead.

The Trojans held the lead until midway through the second quarter when Tyler Evans scored the J-Hawks first touchdown of the night on a two yard touchdown run following a blocked punt.

Jefferson improves to 3 and 3 with the victory while East remains winless 0 and 6 following the loss.
