East Buchanan Shuts out Elkader


EAST BUCHANAN (KWWL) -- Since losing its season opener to 1A Clayton Ridge, Central Elkader has been on fire winning its next four games by an average of 40 to 5. East Buchanan comes in unbeaten and winning by an average margin of 20 points a game.

East Buchanan Buccaneers would control the ball for much of the first quarter with nice runs from number 14 Colin McKeon. He would carry much of the load with several nice gains. The Bucs would throw only two passes, but both of them complete to number 82, Mark Baragary. His second catch would be good for 27-yards to the 13 yard line.  That pass play would help set up the first score by McKeon from two yards out thanks to a huge hole from his offensive line. Buccaneers lead seven, zero with only three minutes left in the first.

Central Elkader would come out firing with their opening possession. Quarterback Tyler Sylvester connects with number 17 Jacob Sylvester for a 13-yard gain. The Buccaneers would shut them down with a hugh sack by Blake Goodenbour, which helped end the first quarter.

Then, with only four minutes left in the second quarter it was the Colin McKeon show. He would find a hole and run untouched, 75 yards, to paydirt. It would be 14-0 at the half. The Buccaneers would tack on another two touchdowns in the second half, shutting out Central Elkader 28 to 0.
