Wild west coming to eastern Iowa

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Next week, the Wild West is coming to the Midwest, thanks to the Bureau of Land Management.

Animal lovers can come to the National Cattle Congress October 10th and 11th to adopt a wild mustang.

The Bureau of Land Management is providing more than thirty horses for adoption.  But experts say there is more to owning a mustang than just loving horses.

"Skill and patience are the two best virtues you can have if you're going to take on a wild animal, there is some talent you'll need to have, but patience is going to be your life saver," said Scott Swanson with the Bureau of Land Management.

Adoption is on a first come first serve basis, starting at one 1:00 p.m.October 10th.
