Major Honor for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
Nurses at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics are being honored for their service. The Iowa City hospital was recognized as a magnet hospital. This award notes excellence in nursing. In 2004, the UIHC became the first hospital in Iowa to be named a magnet hospital, and today it was given the award again. With a healthcare shortage predicted, being a magnet hospital helps to attract and keep nurses. Only about 3-hundred hospitals in the world get the magnet designation.
