Falcons take down Rebels at home


Aplington-Prakersburg has been dominant on the road and at home, winning by an average margin of 27 points a game. Gladbrook-Reinbeck bounced back from its first loss of the season with a dramatic 26-23 victory over previously unbeaten South Winn.

Since joining in 1992 A-P has a record of 148 wins and 30 losses, on Friday night they were looking to add one more to win column.

The Falcons would score first. The work horse Collin Penney would take it in from one yard out and with the extra point the Falcons go up seven to nothing.

At the end of the first quarter falcons would score again set up by quarter back Alec Thompson's thirty yard run to the five yard line. Tenney would take it in from there.  The Falcons would miss the extra point and go up by 13.

Gladbrook-Rienbeck would flex their defensive muscles in the second quarter. Number 33 Brandon Oettchen would snatch an Alec Thompson pas out of mid-air stopping an A-P drive.

The Falcons would get their passing game down. Right before then end of the half Thompson would hit Christian Price in the corner of the end zone. The Falcons would go for two and get it.

A-P would go into the half with a 21 to nothing lead and they would not relinquish it in the second half. Falcons win 42 to 14.
