Cedar Rapids Xavier Shocks #7 CR Kennedy 31-14.

The battle for 42nd street was an offensive battle between Kennedy & Xavier.

Saints would strike first, Cory Reed would go up the gut on the Cougar defense for the first score of the night.  Saints led 7-0.

But then Kennedy would respond.  QB Jordan Williams hit Jacob Heffernen to tie the game at 7.

Kennedy in the 2nd quarter took a 13-7 lead when Williams really aired it up high and deep to the corner of the endzone, Anthony Cooper beat his man for the TD catch.

On the next series, Kennedy would go for a field goal, but kicker Tyler Sievertsen would have his kick blocked.  Xavier's Kyle Donnelly found the pig skin and went 96 yards to the house for the 14-13 half time lead.

In the 3rd Quarter, it was all Xavier.  QB Steve Travis found Reed down to the Kennedy 1 yard line, they would score on the next possession.

Xavier would get a huge win and upset over their rival Kennedy by the final of 31-13.

Xavier now 2 and 2 faces Waterloo West next week, Kennedy now 3 and 1  faces CR Washington and then City High.
