G-R Earns Last-Second Win over South Winn

Gladbrook-Reinbeck was looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season as the hosted unbeaten South Winneshiek for homecoming Friday night.

In front of a huge crowd of Rebel fans, the Warriors drew first blood, opening the game with a six and a half minute drive that took them inside the G-R two yard line.  But after being stopped on third and goal, the Warriors settled for a field goal to take a 3-0 lead.

The Rebels would answer on their very next possession, using a couple big plays to eventually take the lead on a 12 yard Austin Schmidt touchdown.

Midway through the second quarter the Warriors would take the lead back as they put together another six and a half minute drive, capped off by quarterback Jordan Andera's scramble for the endzone.

South Winn held a 10-7 edge at halftime, but Gladbrook-Reinbeck would come back to win 26-23 on a last second field goal.
