Hawks Fly Past Columbus 35-7

Posted:

North Fayette and Waterloo Columbus entered their district-opening match-up with similar non-conference results.  Both teams scored victories over Class 3A opponents and suffered lopsided home losses.

The Hawks got on the board first at the six minute mark of the first quarter as Tanner Mork scored on a three yard touchdown plunge.

The Sailors kept the Hawks off the board on their next possession as Columbus' defense stood tall on a goal line stand.

But it wouldn't take long for North Fayette to get back on the board as Mork finished off a 4 yard drive with his second touchdown of the game midway through the second quarter.

It was more of the same after halftime as Mork piled up more than 261 rushing yards and scored another three touchdowns as the Hawks went on to win 35-7.
