Vending machines becoming more healthy

Vending machines at schools nation wide are becoming more healthy.

There are more water bottles and portion control sports drinks being delivered to schools, in fact, full-calorie soft drink shipments are down 65 percent.

Nearly 80 percent of contracts between schools and bottlers now meet guidelines set back in 2006, which call for 100 percent fruit juice, low-fat milk and bottled water in elementary and middle schools. Diet sodas, sports drinks and low-calorie teas are added for high school students.
