Aplington-Parkersburg wins big in emotional return home

A night that people have looked forward to for more than three months is over. But what a night it was. Aplington-Parkersburg returned to its home field for the first time since May 25th's deadly tornado.

The Falcons took the field against West Marshall in front of a packed house at Ed Thomas Field.  The home-standing Falcons struck first courtesy of Collin Tinney.  Tinney staked A-P to an early 7-0 lead.

After a 51-yard run by Alex Hornbuckle, quarterback Alec Thompson capped the next scoring drive with a keeper to make it 13-6 Falcons.  Aplington-Parkersburg went to the locker room leading 21-12.

In the second half, the Falcons began to run away thanks to the ground game.  Hornbuckle added an 11-yard score to make it 27-12.

Then, after a Christian Price interception, Hornbuckle capped off his big night with a 71-yard touchdown burst.  Aplington-Parkersburg goes on to a 53-20 victory.
