Tigers Maul Trojans 41-0

Posted:

Both Cedar Falls and Waterloo East were coming off of season-opening losses heading into Friday night's match-up at Memorial Stadium in Waterloo.

Each team was also looking to clean up some early season mistakes, as they combined for six turnovers and 19 penalties in Week One.

Cedar Falls struck first.  On just their third play from scrimmiage, Tiger quarterback Kyle Bernard found wide receiver Blake Davis along the left sideline.  Davis slipped a tackle and tip-toed down the sideline to set the Tigers up inside the ten yard line.  From there, running back Jay Brummel finished the drive with a six yard scoring run.

The Tigers would get two more touchdown runs from Brummel in the first quarter as they stretched their lead to 21-zero after the first period.

Midway through the second, Cedar Falls would score through the air as backup quarterback Jake Farley found Darion Howard in the endzone to make it a 28-0 score.

The Tigers eventually took a 35 point lead into halftime and went on to win 41-0.
