Jeremy McKeehan is only a sophomore at cedar rapids jefferson but is already a state bowling champion.
McKeehan says, "It's every high school kid's goal to be a state champion and to be the one that gets it feels good."
Talented and poised, the sixteen year old won the title over the weekend in a one-on-one one game roll-off. Mckeehan averaged 217 a game for the season. Because of his grades last year, Jeremy didn't even bowl for the Jay-Hawks.
His dad has groomed to Jeremy to be the bowler he his, making Coach Virgil Cerveny's job pretty easy.
Cerveny says, "I don't say much to him, his dad brought him along, and with Jeremy we just give him subtle hints once in a while and get out of the way."
Jeremy also loves baseball and hasn't decided which sport he would rather pursue full-time. Sid Jacob has his story.
