Mark Schnackenberg

Mark Schnackenberg
KWWL Storm Track 7 Chief Meteorologist

Mark joined KWWL in January 1995 after he received his degree in Meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA). He has been awarded the Seal of Approval of the American Meteorological Society in recognition of the quality of his television weather broadcasts.

When Mark was a youngster, he'd watch the weather segment on his favorite New York television station. From where he sat, forecasting the weather seemed fun, and he thought he could do a better job of it. Years later, Mark knows how difficult forecasting Iowa's ever-changing weather can be. His knowledge and training are put to the test every day.

His wife (Melissa) and their baby girl (Madison) enjoy living in the Cedar Valley.
