DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, as the United States remembers the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The order calls for all state flags to be lowered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Iowa, and comes in conjunction with President Donald Trump's proclamation for all United States flags to also be lowered to half-staff on Tuesday.

Businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions, along with Iowa residents with their own flags, are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time.
