It took three-and-a half years and countless volunteer hours, but now it's time to celebrate!

The community helped raise $1,000,000 to build the Place to Play Park in Cedar Falls. This will be an inclusive park for all abilities.

Mom Amanda Weichers says there will be a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, September 29th. It will likely be at 10 a.m. She says some of the work will begin this fall, and major construction will start next spring. The hope is for the park to be completed fall of 2019.

Weichers tells KWWL, "I couldn’t be more proud of the children in the Cedar Valley for coming together and doing whatever they could to help raise funds for this very important playground. They made all of us realize that no matter how small you are, you CAN make a difference."
