DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
A Dubuque man is facing a charge of Attempted Murder after allegedly stabbing someone.
Police were called Thursday evening for a report of a stabbing. Officers say they found Michael Hennessy Jr., 26, on the back steps of a home in the 500 block of Loras Blvd. with a stab wound under his left armpit.
Hennessy was taken to the hospital, and doctors say he had a puncture wound to his left lung.
Investigators say Hennessy was stabbed by Christopher Puccio, 24.
According to police, Puccio and Hennessy had been texting throughout the day and met up at an apartment in the 400 block of Angella Street.
Puccio stabbed Hennessy during a fight, police say.
Investigators say Hennessy drove to the home on Loras Blvd. and collapsed on the back-door step.
Police say Puccio was arrested on outstanding warrants, and investigators say they later determined he'd been involved in the stabbing.
Puccio is currently in custody at the Dubuque County Jail.
