Waukon girl makes blanket for Cedar Falls Maid Rite owner battling cancer

Waukon 14-year-old Taylor Howard makes blankets for people who are battling cancer or who are really sick. 

Today, she delivered one of her blankets to Penne Koeppel in Cedar Falls. 

Koeppel is battling her second round of cancer. 

Both Koeppel and her husband own the Maid Rite restaurant in Cedar Falls. 

Taylor says, "If you're ever in Cedar Falls, you should check their place out. They are some really nice people!"

Sometimes even the smallest things can help. It's the little acts of kindness that make a difference. 

Waukon 14-year-old Taylor Howard is making tie blankets for people who are battling cancer or who are really sick. 

She learned about the idea at school, and she loved it so much that she kept doing it in her spare time. 

She's made blankets for people in both eastern Iowa and in Minnesota. 

She says, "I just want to let people know that someone is there for them. Even the smallest things help." 

Recently, Howard gave a blanket to a woman battling Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
