Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa opens new office in Chickasaw County

Posted: Updated:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa has opened a new office to serve the needs of those in Chickasaw County, expanding their one-to-one mentoring program.  The new office is located in New Hampton on East Main Street.

Along with the new office comes new staff.  New Hampton resident, Sara Noehl, will serve as the Program Manager for Chickasaw County.  Noehl has experience in child care leadership and child development.  Previously, she worked as a child care consultant for Child Care Resource & Referral and also taught classes to child care providers and has managed a branch office. Noehl says she is looking forward to focusing on mentoring in Chickasaw County, as well as becoming part of a team serving youth throughout northeast Iowa.

According to a press release, as the office starts out, Noehl and BBBSNEIA members have begun the process of re-enrolling current STAR Mentoring mentor/mentee matches as Big/Little matches. This fall, after current mentor/mentee matches in the county are enrolled in the program, the agency will begin enrolling new mentors and youth.
