UPDATE: 18-year-old taken off life support after fireworks accident

UPDATE: The Bremer County Sheriff's Office says an 18-year-old is dead, after he's injured while lighting off fireworks with his friends.

According to a news release, they say Coltin Carolus was taken off of life support at 5:30 Sunday evening.

They say his organs were donated. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, thy were called at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night for the report of the fireworks-related injury. 
PREVIOUS: Sheriff Pickett reached out to KWWL, to update what he originally told us this morning. 

He is now correcting his earlier report on this fireworks accident, saying the boy's condition is unknown at this time.

According to Bremer County Sheriff Dan Pickett, the 18-year-old was involved in a fireworks accident at a rural Waverly home on Saturday night before 11:30 p.m.

Sheriff Pickett said a group of friends were shooting off fireworks when the teen was injured.

The teen's name is not being released as the investigation continues.
