UPDATE: Waterloo firefighters confirm adult, toddler rescued after kayak tips

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo firefighters tell KWWL an adult and a toddler fell in the water when their kayak tipped. 

Fortunately, they were able to get into another water craft, and Waterloo Fire Rescue then helped them get to shore. 

The adult and toddler were not hurt in the incident. This happened around 8 p.m. Saturday night. 

Waterloo police and fire were called to the Lost Island KOA.

UPDATE-- A viewer on scene said Waterloo Police and Waterloo Fire and Rescue responded to a water rescue at the campground. 

That viewer said a canoe flipped in the middle of the lake with a child on board. They said the people in the water were struggling and bystanders jumped into the lake to go to their assistance. 

We were told by witnesses that people were taken by ambulance from the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY--

Waterloo Police and emergency crews are on scene of some type of accident near the Waterloo/Lost Island Waterpark KOA. 

A witness on scene tells us there are multiple emergency vehicles and one person was taken to a hospital by ambulance. 

We have a KWWL crew on scene right now trying to learn more information.
