DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Lunch time at Camp Courageous of Iowa is not just a time to eat a meal. It's a time to connect with friends, maybe even get a new hair do.

for the campers, many of them with disabilities, it's a special place.

"It's really special because it gives me an opportunity to meet people that I can relate with and I get to hear like, what they go through," said 14-year-old, Isaiah Dale.

To the disappointment of many, last week, several campers and staff came down with the Norovirus. They had to close in order to  clean and sanitize everything.

Things are back to normal now.

"We're all good, we're all happy. I know I feel much better, all the counselors are really excited," said Sarah Firschmeyer, camp counselor.

This week's camp, giving one-on-one attention to those with Muscular Dystrophy.

The campers full of energy and spirit. "My favorite part is definitely having my own counselor. It's really fun, and I hope to have him the rest of the time I'm at camp, and hopefully after that, I can volunteer here," added Dale.
