2 Waterloo men arrested in rural burglary investigation

Posted: Updated:

Two Waterloo men are facing charges in connection with a rural burglary.

On Friday, a home in the 5600 block of Independence Avenue reported a garage and enclosed trailers were broken into. The report says about $1,000 worth of items including tools, vehicle parts and a television were stolen.

A day later, neighbors reported the two men returned to the same home and were removing more property from the building.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found 34-year-old Salih Golubovic and 36-year-old Adis Didovic. Deputies say the two had stolen four kayaks and were hooked up to the victim's flat bed trailer. This stolen property was valued at nearly $3,000.

Deputies and officers with the Waterloo Police Department searched several locations on information gathered in the investigation. Most of the stolen property from this burglary was recovered at a building that Didovic had access to, the report states.

The two were each charged with one count of second-degree theft, third-degree burglary and ongoing criminal conduct.

The investigation is ongoing.
