Parkland students coming to Iowa for March For Our Lives tour

Posted: Updated:

A nationwide bus tour to register young people to vote kicks off today in Chicago.

"March for Our Lives"  is a youth movement, started by students who survived a school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The tour includes dozens of stops across the country in just over 60 days.

They'll be here in Iowa next week, which will include stops in Sioux City, Cedar Rapids and Marion.

On June 21, March For Our Lives will be at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids. They'll be there for an event at 1 p.m.

Later in the day, they'll be in Marion. They'll be at Linn-Mar High School Gymnasium at 7:00 PM.

Among other things, organizers say they'll also talk about gun reform.

Their website says, "This summer, the students of March For Our Lives are making stops across America to get young people educated, registered, and motivated to vote. We call it March For Our Lives: Road to Change. When people across the country rallied at the March For Our Lives just over 2 months ago, we showed our politicians that we refuse to accept gun violence as an unsolvable issue. Now it’s time to turn our energy into action."
