DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Changes are coming to a busy Dubuque intersection.

The four-way stop at University and Grandview Avenues is being converted into a single lane roundabout.

It's near businesses, Allison-Henderson Park, also UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital is about a block away.

The project means detours and road closures start Thursday.

University west of Grandview is closed, and traffic is detoured on to Delhi.

"In the first few days of the project, we hope everybody slows down, try to pay attention to the signage, said Nate Kieffer, land surveyor for Dubuque. Businesses are open, so just bare with us as we get through this first week, first few days as well."

The project also means changes for the Jule Bus Service. The transfer location will  be relocated from the south to  the north of Grandview

Majority of the project will  be completed during the summer, some time in August, before students head back to school.
