Bicyclist hit by car in Waterloo

According to a Waterloo police report, a bicyclist was hit by a car near the intersection of East 4th Street and Franklin Street. 

The report says this happened on Friday, June 8th around 6:50 p.m. When officers arrived, they say the cyclist was bleeding from his lower left leg. 

According to the report, Michael Brandonburg, the cyclist, said he was crossing the street, when a vehicle hit his bike. Brandonburg said he saw the white crossing sign when he crossed. 

The driver of the car, 37-year-old Shakila Powell, said she had the green light and was driving on Franklin Street .
