Flooding causes eastern Iowa state park to close

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Iowa DNR has closed a state park in Iowa following the large amounts of rain over the weekend.

DNR officials closed George Wyth State Park in Waterloo at 6 p.m. tonight.

Experts say the Cedar River is expected to crest on Wednesday, causing main roads and trails in the park to be covered by water.

Park officials hope the park will be open again for the public by next weekend.
