Mark your schedules: kickoff times for seven Iowa football games announced

The 2018 Iowa Hawkeyes football slate became a bit more clear on Thursday, with the team announcing kickoff times for seven of this fall's games.

The Hawkeyes will begin the season at home in Kinnick Stadium by hosting the Northern Illinois Huskies on September 1. The season opener will kick off at 2:30 p.m.

A stretch of rivalry games beckons beginning the next week for Kirk Ferentz's squad, as the Iowa State Cyclones will then come to Kinnick on September 8 for the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series game. The Iowa-Iowa State tilt kicks off at 4 p.m. The following week, Iowa will suit up for a third consecutive home game by hosting the Northern Iowa Panthers under the lights, starting at 6:30 p.m. on September 15.

Kickoff times for four Big Ten Conference games were also announced Thursday, with Iowa tangling with the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Twin Cities at either 2:30 p.m. or 3 p.m. on October 6. The Hawkeyes will play at least three 11 a.m. games during 2018 conference play: at Indiana on October 13, home against Maryland on October 20 and finally in Iowa City versus Nebraska for the season finale on November 23.

Nov. 10      Northwestern, Kickoff TBA

Nov. 17      at Illinois, Kickoff TBA

Nov. 23      Nebraska, 11 a.m.
