A Coralville woman was arrested Tuesday after ramming her car into another women's and then hitting her with brass knuckles.

Police reports say Shaneka Nashea Alexander, 30, was driving near 950 Boston Way in Coralville when she struck another vehicle just after midnight.

The arrest report says that following the crash,  Alexander got out of her car and approached the victim's vehicle, instructing her to get out. After the victim got out of her car, Alexander allegedly struck her with brass knuckles, which were on her right hand, repeatedly in the facial and head area. The victim told officers that Alexander hit her in the head until she got tired. The victim had cuts to her face and head along with swelling of the right eye area.

The police report says that prior to leaving the scene, Alexander yelled, "Tell that to your mama!"

Alexander has been charged with assault meant to cause serious injury, causing damage to a vehicle, reckless driving, and going armed with intent. She is being held at the Johnson County Jail.

Court records show that the day before the alleged assault, Alexander was arrested on warrant for Third Degree Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
