Water testing available through Iowa Grants-to-Counties Program

IOWA -

The State Hygienic Lab at the University of Iowa is partnering with 30 counties in Iowa to offer free well water testing.  The lab recommends testing your private well water once a year for coliform bacteria and nitrate levels.

To determine if you're eligible to have your water tested at no cost you must first contact the county sanitarian at your county health department to see if they take part in the Grants-to-Counties program.  You can get full details on what to do by following this link.

The private well tests will go through the end of June.
