Decorah man injured in Fayette County crash

A Decorah man is injured after a crashing his truck in Fayette County Friday afternoon. 

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office took a report of a single vehicle accident on May 25, around 2:19 p.m. on Lincoln Rd north of King Rd. 

An investigation determined that Eric Lee Smorstad, 24, from Decorah was driving a 2004 Ford F150, going northbound on Lincoln Road, when he lost control of his truck and went into a ditch. The police report says Smorstad was taken by Tri State Ambulance to Gundersen Palmer Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Iowa Department of Natural Resources, West Union Fire Department, and Tri State Ambulance. 

The police report says the truck is a total loss, and the incident remains under investigation.
