UPDATE: Man in serious condition following Grundy County accident

UPDATE: According to family members, one of the drivers involved in a Tuesday morning crash has undergone multiple surgeries. 

The family of Andrew Matson says he was airlifted from Allen Hospital to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he has had multiple surgeries and will likely have to have many more.


Two people involved in an accident along Highway 57 around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, in Grundy County. 

Andrew Matson, 29, of Parkersburg, was driving his Nissan truck on Highway 57 around a curve going south and a straight truck, driven by Dennis Miller, 57, of Janesville was going west on Highway 57 when they collided. 

Matson was taken to Allen hospital for multiple injuries, after he was freed from his truck. Miller went to a local doctor for minor injuries. 

The accident is under investigation by Grundy County Sheriff's Office. New Hartford Fire and Ambulance, Sartori Paramedics, and Cedar Falls Fire Department.
