A new study finds most emergency room doctors say their hospital is not equipped for a mass casualty event.

Only seven percent felt they were fully prepared to handle a surge of patients during a major storm or other disaster.

Half say their ER was somewhat prepared.

They say the main problem is drug shortages.

Ninety percent of doctors say they had a shortage of critical medicines during the past month.

Ninety percent of doctors also reported having to take time away from patient care to explore the viability of alternate treatments and medications.
