ROCHESTER, Minn. (KWWL) -

Kyven Gadson will get another showdown with Kyle Snyder. Gadson defeated Austin Schafer in the final round of the 2018 freestyle world team trials challenge to advance to Final X, the last leg of the world team trials qualification process.

The former East High stand-out recorded a tech fall and pin in his early round matches. He later defeated Schafer 8-1 and then again by injury default to win the best-of-three final.

The match with Snyder, a 4-time Olympic and World Champion, will take place in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 9.

Gadson has defeated Snyder before, pinning him in Saint Louis to win an NCAA title in 2015 as an Iowa State Cyclone. Last year, however, Snyder won a pair of matches between the two by technical fall to win the 2017 world team trials.
