CLARKSVILLE (KWWL) -

The small town of Clarksville is in the national spotlight right know, while Maddie Poppe gets ready for the 'American Idol' finale.

Thousands poured into the town earlier this week for Maddie's hometown parade.

But one photo is gaining a lot of attention on Facebook for showing what small-town Iowa is all about.

While there's been a lot of happy news out of Clarksville these past few weeks, there was also a tragedy.

Sadly, Kain Schild,15, was accidentally shot and killed about a week ago.

A photo shows Maddie Poppe stepping away from the spotlight to show her support for the Schild family.

A post on Facebook says, "If this does not say small town Iowa I don’t know what does. For the ones that don’t know Clarksville Iowa has had very happy but yet very sad last couple weeks. You can see in the photo that on Maddie Poppe’s big welcome home concert for making it in the top 3 of American Idol that she has not forgot about the tragedy that happen in her home town and shows her support to the Schild family. Please keep the family and friends of Kain Schild in your thoughts and Prayers, and also please support the very talented and caring Maddie Poppe as she continues to follow her dream."
