DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Police in Dubuque say they have arrested a man accused of repeated assaults dating back to last summer.

30-year-old Lambert Jerris Jr. was arrested Friday on warrants for a range of pending charges, including 1st Degree Kidnapping, Domestic Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, 1st Degree Harassment, 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Impending Air Flow Causing Injury.

Officers say Jerris was arrested following a brief standoff, which came after the victim in the case reported an ongoing domestic assault at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center on Thursday. Police say the violence she suffered included Jerris punching, kicking and choking her. He's also accused of refusing to let her leave a basement inside a home in the 3000 block of Lemon Street. During one of the alleged encounters, Jerris is accused of threatening the victim with a knife, and also accused of slamming her against a wall in a different instance.

This is a developing story, stay with KWWL on air and online as more information becomes available.
