UPDATE: Donations have been pouring in for a Brandon family after the husband and father of three died in an early morning house fire.

The father, Chauncey Raue was 37-year-old. His wife Brittany and three sons survived the fire. One of the boys is being treated for burns.

Members of the family's church, the Blessed Hope Church in Vinton say they no longer need donations of clothing.

Instead, they are asking those who wish to help, to make a donation to the family's GoFundMe page.

In less than 24 hours, people have donated more than $28,000 dollars to the Brandon family.

A family not only lost everything in a devastating fire. They lost a father of three.

A house fire in rural Brandon claimed the life of a father early Friday morning. The Benton County Sheriff's Office said Chauncey Raue died in the fire. He was just 37-years-old.

Crews got to the scene of the 51-hundred block of 25th Ave. in Brandon just before 1:30 a.m. They found the home engulfed when they got on scene.

Benton County Sheriff Ronald Tippett said a mother and her three young boys made it out of the fire. He said the father had gotten out too but for some reason went back into the home. Tippett said it may have been to look for his family but he never made it out.

Raue's body was discovered after the flames were put out. One member of the family had to be airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

By Friday afternoon, the home was only a pile of burnt logs. Evidence of the fire could be seen on the scorched cars nearby where the home once stood.

In nearby Vinton, the family is a member of Blessed Hope Church where donations are currently being collected for the family.

Throughout the afternoon, a number of people stopped by with clothing or money donations.
