BUCHANAN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Buchanan County on Monday after being convicted of making meth.

The Buchanan County Attorney's Office says Cody Brown was found making the drug in an outbuilding of a Brandon home in August 2016.

According to a press release, on August 2, 2016, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the area of 3030 Daniel Avenue, after they received a 911 hang up call from a cellular telephone near that location.

When deputies arrived, they found Brown manufacturing methamphetamine in an outbuilding. Further investigation revealed a guest in the residence, Daniel David O’Hara, accidentally dialed 911 while his phone was in his pocket. After seeing the call, he hung up and removed the battery from the phone to prevent a callback.

Sheriff's deputies say O'Hara was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Wisconsin.

Brown faces a 20-year sentence after being convicted of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Pseudoephedrine with Intent to Use as a Precursor and Possession of Ammonia Nitrate with Intent to Use as a Precursor. O'Hara was sentenced in 2016 to five years in prison for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Zopiclone.
